Many kitchen units are old and scratched and give you no confidence in inviting others over to your house. Why not merely instead of replacing the complete kitchen, merely re-model it. Many carcasses are still up to standard, it merely needs some new work-tops, doors and kick-plates to give it again that special touch!

What you can do to re-model your kitchen:

1. Even if you would just replacing the handles of your kitchen would already bring another dimension to your kitchen. Replacing handles is not hard work at all and does not require much skill! Handles come out in set sizes and fixtures. That means that another set of handles will fit your old handle's position without any re-drilling holes, etc. The normal size handle between its screwed points range from 76mm, 96mm, 128mm, 160mm, 224mm, 320mm, etc. This means that you can merely unscrew the old handle - measure between the centers of the holes where the handle is fixed and look for a new handle with the same fixed diameter as your handle! 2. Another do it yourself way to re-modify your existing kitchen is to take of the existing doors and merely paint them another colour! This brings new edge to any old kitchen. A roller painter works great on this. Of course, if you can afford some spray painting, the effect will be quite something. Remember before you would paint your old melamine doors; remember to first break the surface with a little sanding paper. Do not use a too course grade, a sandpaper of about 220 will work just fine.
