Fix-a-bath started in June 1992. For the first eleven years we were only able to refinish baths, basins, toilets and wall tiles in plain colours. To excel in a very competitive environment we had to broaden our horizons. In 2002 Fix-a-Bath developed a new system and started a new range of products enabling us to re-glaze baths, basins, toilets and tiles with special effects such as realistic imitation of marble, granite, sandstone etc. This opened a whole new world in the refinishing industry, distinguishing us as a leader in our field.
In 2007 we perfected our latest product that enabled us to resurface and change the colour of floor tiles, the inside of toilets, jaccuzzi's and swimming pools. Leaving our competitors far behind. This new coating is fit for: kitchen and bedroom cupboards, vanity slabs, kitchen tops, garage doors, palisades, gutters, aluminium surfaces, steel, concrete, paving and many more. All can be coated with any desired effects.
Our etching system (only available to Fix-a-bath) gave us the edge over other competitors. Simply by applying the liquid etch to any ceramic or porcelain surface, it provides a clinically prepared surface, rough enough for just about any suitable coating with no adhesion failure. The etching system also means that our preparation process is a much cleaner process creating no dust while preparing surfaces. It also removes all mildew, fungi, soap scum, fatty deposits and any other contaminants from the prepared surface.
Another major challenge we were faced with was that we operated mobile spraying units and the compressed air caused problems due to condensation. So we developed an inline water separating system that performes perfectly under all circumstances and weather conditions.
In order to keep our processes as professional and dust free as possible we also perfected a mobile evacuation system that extracts odours and overspray while spraying. This has two functions one to remove odours and overspray and the other to give enough ventilation to prevent any health risks to the technician and our clients.
